Today I worked on my news article that I had to make. I looked at many examples of articles and the styles at which they were written. I even looked up some techniques on how to write an article. I then went ahead and finished half of my article that was due on wednesday. I finished making the title of the article and even found an image for the article. However I will finish the rest of the article tomorrow.
Tuesday, January 21st
Today I worked on finishing the entire article. Since the major part of the article was remaining and I had to stick to writing as a future radical. Therefore I had to be focused on each sentence I was writing as well as to be focused on what subject I was talking about. The rest of the article took me around 30 min to complete.
Thursday, January 23rd
Today we had time in class to merge our articles so that each group had a final article to present to the class. Our group merged two articles together to make one final article since they were the best two in the group. Later in the class all the groups were supposed to present their articles to the class with a full explanation as to how and why they wrote the article (rationale). Unfortunately, there was no time for my group to present our article to the class. Therefore the next english class, in a week, would be when we would present.
Monday, February 3rd
Today my group presented our article about how people support the change of OFS is teaching system, to the class. I think that we did a good job presenting and explaining to the class why and how we went about writing our article. Today I also learnt about the different techniques of being biased, for example: spin. The remaining of the class we had to focus on listening to the presentation and keeping in mind the techniques so that later when we had to write other articles, we would be able to use these techniques to write a better article. I think that this class was one of the most important classes of this unit because we learnt one of the most important techniques in Journalism, Bias. I learnt the different techniques of being bias which would help me make future articles better.
At home I finished half of my editorial that will be due on wednesday. I spent time working on my headline, the image and the first paragraph of the article.
Tuesday, February 4th
Today at home I finished the rest of my article and the rationale too. I finished the three paragraphs that I based around the statement that Mr. Glover made. The editorial took around an hour to complete but in the end I was satisfied at what I typed up.
Wednesday, February 5th
In school today, Mr. Glover showed us a presentation on how to make editorials. The entire class he explained to us the techniques used and examples of editorials. We even had time to work on our editorial at the end of class so that we had less to do when we got back home.
As soon as I got back home, I started working on the editorial that I had to present to my group that was due tomorrow. I read over the task sheet many times to make sure that I fully understood what I was supposed to do. I finished the editorial and my rationale in a span of 1-1.5 hours.

Every thursday, Mr. Glover makes all the groups present a type of article that our group has agreed on. Today, all the groups had to present their editorials to the class. During all the presentations, I carefully payed attention to the techniques each group to craft their articles. I listened to what advice Mr.Glover gave to the groups so that I could use this to my advantage and make my group's articles better.
Wednesday, February 12th
Since I missed school on Monday, I had to try extra hard in class so that I understood what Mr. Glover was teaching us. The topic today was "Feature Articles". As last Wednesday, Mr. Glover used almost the whole class to tell us about the topic. The techniques and elements used in making a feature article were hard to understand but with the help of an example, that Mr. Glover showed us, I was able to clear my doubts.
For tomorrow's task I wrote a feature article that I think my group should like. I focused on spending time to research on a proper picture that reflected the main topic I was talking about. However I did focus mainly on my article and finished in in around forty minutes.
Thursday, February 13th
Today in class, as usual finished watching all the groups present their feature articles however only 2 groups were able to present due to time constraints. The rest would present on Monday.
Monday, February 17th
In class, today we had the whole lesson to work with our group and try to build a base for our newspaper.
As soon as I got back home, I started working on the editorial that I had to present to my group that was due tomorrow. I read over the task sheet many times to make sure that I fully understood what I was supposed to do. I finished the editorial and my rationale in a span of 1-1.5 hours.
