Online-schooling sets debates around the world

"'Students' increasing dependancy on technology in every aspect of their academic lives is a double edged sword", said Richard Glover, teacher at Overseas Family School (OFS). The school has decided to become one of the first school's in the world to implement online-schooling instead of face to face teaching. OFS, the largest Middle Years Programme (MYP) school in the world has decided to implement the new form of teaching in a year's time.
From a futurist's point of view, this idea is very pleasing and falls on the 'pros' side of the list. For a school to take steps like these and change their teaching platform from face-to face teaching, to online teaching makes the school more technologically advanced, supporting people who have the 'future radical' way of thinking. The school supports the idea and stingily believe's that their new method of online-teaching will help students learn faster and also maintain their revenue. As Richard Glover previously said, "'Students' increasing dependancy on technology in every aspect of their academic lives is a double edged sword". As the english teacher mentions in his statement, "the double edged sword" metaphorically meaning that students will take this newly implemented system to the fullest and become smarter, sharper and learn faster.
The news of OFS radiating their face-to-face classroom teaching and deliver an online curriculum has sparked positive claims around the world. Public schools in Singapore are also discussing the thought and are escalating quickly towards implementing it in their school. Scientists have reacted by saying that OFS's new way of teaching will change the world. They agree with Richard Glover's statement and have interpreted it as follows: "I truly agree with Richard Glover. I do believe that students will learn more and learn faster through technology. Since they are dependant on it, I feel that it might be one of the only ways that students may learn faster in the years to come. With technological advancement students will learn to get attracted more to technology increasing their dependancy", said Dr. Phil Williams.
Technological engineer Kim Lee says his research into the internet and its capabilities has proven that it is possible to do more than just provide an online-curriculum on the school's website. He says "the future only will have only schools teaching students from home. The sooner schools start implementing online-schooling the better for the school. In fact school's that haven't implemented their online-curriculum and stopped their face-to-face teaching by 2016, will actually be facing a double-edged sword.
Rationale:
In this editorial, I choose the title of the article to be very unbiased. I don't give the reader any hint of being partial to either side of the topic. I feel that this might create a sense of suspense in the reader as they might want to find out the thoughts of people supporting the topic or not. The image I choose, was a simple one, I decided to have a student looking at a computer, neither sad not happy. This again shows no sign of being bias and therefore doesn't defend any side to the topic.
In my article, I decided to space my ideas out into 4 paragraphs. I also wanted to include a small introduction to the article, to let the reader know what I was talking about (OFS in particular). My entire article was based around the statement that Mr.Glover made. Although in the beginning of the article, I stuck to being unbiased, during the article, I decided to take be more bias and clear about whom I represent (the futurists). I used people who might represent or think about positive against change in the world: doctors, scientists, engineers etc. These elements helped me be bias in my article.
